Implicit Biases: Awareness and Management in Conflict Resolution – Session 2 (April 23)

April 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

Implicit biases: awareness and management in conflict resolutionBiases are unfair personal opinions that influence one’s judgment, whether explicit (conscious) or implicit (unconscious). The impact the information one hears and considers as well as how one interprets that information. Left unchecked, biases impair one’s ability to think critically, and can prevent critical thinking altogether. This course will explain why and how self-awareness is a necessary first step in reducing biases. Class participants will learn to understand implicit biases, one’s own self-awareness, and the implications of both processes on their practices, particularly in multi-cultured environments.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To get the full four credits for this course, you must also take Session 2 which is offered on Friday, April 22, 2022. Find it here.
